Hired profiler ideal for shopping centre upgrade |
|
A 2500R profiler and mini loader, hired from Kennards Concrete Care, proved an excellent option for removing about 680sq m of tiled walkways during a shopping centre refurbishment.
Taylor Group Constructions was contracted by Local Government Super, the owner of Sturt Mall in Wagga Wagga, NSW, to refurbish and upgrade the internal glazed atrium arcade and replace external tiled walkway surfaces.
As the shopping centre had to remain operational during the work, all of the demolition had to be carried out at night.
Moreover, the process for tile removal had to ensure that the concrete substrate was reasonably smooth, so that it would be suitable for shoppers to walk on next morning.
Dave Taylor, who operates Taylor Group Constructions, discussed the situation with Kennards Concrete Care, who recommended a 2500R profiler and mini loader, together with a medium industrial vacuum unit.
"The performance of the machine was very good once our operators became familiar with the
operation," Dave said.
"Jackhammering was an option, but it would have been slower and left a fair amount of
damage to the substrate."
"This method meant the tiles were removed to a standard that left us with only a minor amount of work to do before the new tiles were laid directly on to the surface."
"We also found the backup service from the Kennards Concrete Care team was excellent."
"The job was completed in the allocated time and the result is excellent."
Kennards Concrete Care has hire centres in Sydney, Brisbane Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
